Story
How they met
Chris and Emma first met at Mount Allison University, in Sackville New Brunswick while volunteering for the SMILE program.
Growing Romance
The two started seeing each other in their second year of University. Their friendship quickly took off with inside jokes, study sessions, and just to spend time together. Chris would organize hot chocolate dates on the boardwalk and star gaze sessions on a blanket in the waterfowl park. It wasn't until the Christmas holidays when they realized that they would be away from each for the first time since their romantic relationship started. It was then that they decided it was finally time to make their relationship official! Just to make sure Chris asked Emma if he could call her his girlfriend!
The Proposal
For the past few years, Emma and Chris have been in a long distance relationship. Chris in Halifax studying Pharmacy at Dal, and Emma a teacher in Salluit Quebec. The two would see each other in short 1 - 2 week vacations at Christmas, and during the summer. Chris would also take a trip to Salluit to visit Emma each spring.
On May 3, 2015, Emma and Chris embarked on a breath taking hike in Salluit. They found a beautiful view and sat down to take in the view. It took 45 minutes to find the right words, and muster a little bit of courage, before Emma could ask Chris to spend the rest of their lives together. She couldn't go down the mountain without being with Chris for the rest of her life. Chris said "of course, but only if you will marry me!".
